A Family Favorite from Always Eat After 7 PM

One of the more normal things that I found in these past few months was routine meal planning. It was something that I could control in the midst of a chaos of COVID-19. That is one of the reasons that I am so glad I snagged Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. Not only is it helping me simplify my diet and rethink about food in a different way, it is also giving me some fantastic recipes to fill up my Weekly Menu on Sundays.

What am I Learning?

To make it simple, a lot! I have been adding lemon water to my morning routine and it has given me so much energy to make it through the day. I also have been consuming what the book calls “super carbs”, specifically in the evening to help with my sleep as well.

I was surprised to learn that although we’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed, the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal.

“Having carbs in the evening is also a great weight loss strategy. When you’re active, your body burns mainly carbohydrates and muscle glycogen for energy. By eating carbs at night, you allow your body to use them to restore glycogen for energy the next day and provide your body with the glucose it needs to regulate your blood sugar levels during sleep.”

Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.

A Family Favorite

Our favorite recipe from the book has been the Chili-Loaded Baked Potato.

How in the world can a chili loaded baked potato be healthy? It’s really simple when you use this delicious recipe hack.

It’s the perfect combination of macronutrients to help stabilize blood sugar and regulate your cortisol cycle keeping your body in fat burning mode. Combining the protein, carbs, and fiber together is a perfect balance to increase energy levels, without the normal crash associated with higher carb meals.

Our family really likes this to serve this book’s homemade chili over freshly baked sweet potatoes, which is quite divine! A lighter option that we’ve experimented with is to serve it over spaghetti squash, or even sautéed zucchini or baked butternut squash noodles as the book suggests!

Don’t they look so delicious?

The book is packed full of recipes that have really helped me meal plan at the beginning of the week and be strategic with what I am buying at the grocery store. I did not realize how many different areas of our lives we could simplify with this book! If you haven’t yet, I highly recommended snagging this book, Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion.
