July 16, 2018 is another Amazon Prime Day! There’s a lot of great deals going on both before, during, and after the event. Amazon Prime Day is the second shopping holiday the Bahorich household which means this is #2 in our books right after Black Friday. So what are some of the best ways to save money with Amazon Prime this summer?

Step 1 – Get Amazon Prime

First of all, if you are not a member of Amazon prime, you will want to join in order to take advantage of the deals. If you are not a member just yet, Amazon is offering a 30-Day free trial, so be sure to sign up! College students are being offered a discounted rate of 50% off their membership and a 6-month free trial. So there are deals all around.

In addition to taking advantage of the Prime Day deals, a membership will allow you to stream video from Amazon’s streaming service, and receive free two-day shipping on almost all qualifying purchases. Amazon Prime is a staple in our house, especially with two little ones running around. We are able to quickly order and receive last minute baby supplies, and we don’t have to leave the house to go looking for them. I also play the game often of, "Will I be able to make it to the store in the next 48 hours?" or "Do I need this in the next two days?" If the answer is no to either, we Amazon Prime it and it saves me more time with my family.

Step 2 – Get the Amazon App

Sign up for the Amazon App and they will send you a $10 coupon! You have to be a Prime member, of course, so sign up for the 30 day free trial! The App will tell you what deals to look out for. You can save items to your shopping list, and as they become discounted on Prime day, the App will let you know.

Discount on Audible

Another deal for Prime Day is on Audible, you can now get 66% off a 3 Month Subscription of Audible – for a limited time three months is $4.95 a month! Try listening to two free books on Audible. With a subscription, you can add 1 new audio book to your library each month and get 30% off any audiobook after that. You will find this service makes your life so much easier! You can listen to thousands of books in your car, on your walk, while doing chores around the house.

I am a big fan of Audible as a new mom and fan of lifelong learning – it is a huge relief to be able to continue to learn even when my hands are full. I can redeem anything from my commute on days I have to travel to work to even redeeming my time cooking dinner or doing the laundry. I love to read and had really missed this shortly after Ollie was born, so this gal is super thankful for Audible all around.

Amazon Branded Household Essentials

There’s a lot of snacks out there designed specifically for your baby and toddler. They are convenient and provide you some assurance that they are age appropriate. Blended pouches often include the fruits and veggies and nutrients your baby needs; however, they can get expensive! It’s best to buy in bulk, if possible, and you can get some great deals on Prime Day.

Amazon is offering 30% off Amazon branded items, such as Mama Bear Organic Baby Food pouches. You can get a pack of 12 for $11.03 – less than $1 per pouch, which is favorable retail prices and even comparable to what I would buy at a bulk store.

There are other household products on sale; everything from coffee to vitamins can be purchased. However, for all you new parents out there, Amazon also offers Mama Bear diapers and wipes. Combining the discounted price, free shipping, and the ease of shopping for diapers from home makes it a great time to stock up on diapers!

Additional Deals Through Alexa

Prime Day will offer special deals if you purchase through your Alexa! In order to take advantage of the deals, purchase your echo devices now. A Kindle Fire at a Toddler Worthy Price

Sometimes as a busy mom you just need to buy a little time and, yes, that means screen time. We worry about our little ones breaking our expensive iPhones and tablets. With Amazon Fire Tablets almost 50% off, you can afford to get your toddler her own tablet! I don’t think you can really beat this price – even educational LeapFrog toys run in the upper $30’s! If you’re not sure if your child is ready for a tablet, buy one now and save it for his or her birthday or for Christmas. These deals are as good as anything you’ll find around Black Friday!

Perhaps you didn’t know that Amazon now offers home services such as house cleaning (and carpet cleaning), furniture assembly, and TV mounting at affordable prices! Currently in my area, I am being quoted house cleaning for less than $100 per month. But on Prime day, Amazon will be offering $50 off home cleaning plans! Considering that we tend to value our time more than our possessions, it is a great idea to check out what Amazon has to offer in their Home Services.
