Surviving Sleep On-the-Go

Do you ever find yourself needing a spare bed for your toddler when visiting friends, traveling, or at grandma’s house? As Ollie is getting older, this has been an increasingly difficult problem. Long ago (in baby years), we could pop him down almost anywhere for a nap; however, as he has entered toddlerhood, we have found that consistency and routine (however we can find it) has been key. There is nothing more important than something familiar to him to lay down when it is nap or bedtime and we're on the road. Plus, remaining safe through all of this and making sure he doesn't fall off a family or friend's bed has been uber important!

I honestly noticed the need for a solution around the holidays this past year. Ollie was rounding out to be close to 18 months and becoming super independent. With this indecency, he also was craving more and more structure as we travelled from house to house during all of our festivities. My parents live about two hours from us so especially during those trips, we needed something that was lightweight and easy to carry in the midst of our holiday gear. Thinking of our upcoming summer, I can see our gear doubling with another kiddo in tow so I am so thankful that we found the Regalo My Cot Portable Bed this spring!

Our Regalo My Cot Portable Bed has been a lifesaver over the past few months of travel. We have been slowly acclimating Ollie to his new "travel bed" and he has done wonderful with it. I cannot wait for it to grow with him and be a key staple of familiar things as we continue to be an active family. Plus, a major plus -- we no longer have to share a bed with him at night when we are on the road! From one pregnant mother to another, this is amazing as my belly has slowly been taking up more and more of our bed.

So with the exhaustion of daylight savings time and today being National Napping Day, I wanted to share with you all of the great features of our new Regalo My Cot and an opportunity to win one for yourself! Head on over to Regalo Baby's Facebook page to enter their 24 hours giveaway now!

So how light and portable is the travel bed?

It does not matter if your child is taking a nap at day care, at a sleepover, at grandma’s or at the park, the Regalo My Cot Portable Bed is perfect. The cot itself is made of an all-steel construction and is built with durability, safety, and convenience in mind. A sturdy canvas material lines the cot while a fitted sheet is included for added comfort while your little one rests or plays. It is super lightweight and, when not in use, it can be easily folded up to a fraction of its size for storage inside its convenient carry case, making it ideal for trips. It can even fit in a standard sized suitcase, so everyone can have their own sleeping space when spending the night away from home -- which like I said, has been the most perfect solution for us!

How easy is it to set up/put down?

The Regalo My Cot Portable Bed is so easy and quick to set up as it comes fully assembled and unfolds when removed from the storage bag. The design was kept simple to set up in seconds and fold down compactly with a single motion.

Is it comfortable for my toddler?

Absolutely! The cot itself is low to the ground, so we do not have to worry about Ollie falling from a high height in the middle of the night. It can support up to 75 pounds and measures up to 48 inches long so it will grow with Ollie until he is around 5 years old and probably even beyond! As an extra comfort feature, the portable toddler bed includes a cotton fitted sheet that fits snuggly over the frame. During these winter months, Ollie has definitely needed something else to keep him warm as an additional comfort but this is really needed in the midwest anywhere.

What age is it suitable for?

The travel bed is suitable for a child 2-5 years; however, the bed can still be used for older kids depending on their size. Knowing Ollie is a bit of a runt, I would have to assume that we will be using it for a long, long time and it will transition nicely to Lillie once she's of age as well!

Is it washable?

Ollie is pure boy. I mean 100% boy. Because I know that my little boy have a tendency to make a mess, I was happy to learn that the Regalo My Cot Portable Bed is made from heavy-duty, waterproof nylon. The liner cleans up quickly with a damp cloth and soap and the included cotton fitted sheet is machine washable for easy cleaning. This is super important as Ollie already thinks that this cot is also perfect for snack time!

Where can I get one?

The best place to find a Regalo My Cot Portable Bed for yourself (beyond winning today's amazing giveaway) is to hop on over to Amazon. The bed itself retails for around $30; however, most days you can find it on sale for under $20 which is another great reason why I love this cot! The cost is so reasonable!!
