Being intentional in how I shop is super important to me, and as a mom, I always want to make sure that the products and food that I give Ollie are of high quality. His toys are no exception. Now don't pin me as one of those moms that is high-organic everything. I wish we were that family, but honestly, we aren't. As a working mom, sometimes he eats pizza and ice cream and sometimes we get thrifty and buy a used plastic Fischer Price toy. All of it is okay in moderation.

However, when I can, I love to make sure that his toys are safe for him to play with and educational at best. I fell in love with Sandi's creations. One of my favorite designs is her sensory block which lets Ollie explore from organic unbleached flannel, organic terry cloth, and an organic 2.5" maple wood ring, perfecting for teething! Partnered with three organic cotton twill loops, the block is easy to grab onto as Ollie crawls throughout the house. There is a rattle inside that is generously wrapped in 100% organic cotton fiberfill and the block is squishy enough to grab and enjoy. This block is approximately 3.5" square, and the fabric is lined with cotton interfacing to help retain it’s shape.

I love that Sandi has all types of organic baby products that are perfect for the multitude of baby showers that I have this spring. From onesies, shorts, play crowns, and more, her shop is filled with such adorable products. Did I also mention that she is being featured this spring at Spring at the Silos at Magnolia Market?! How neat is that? I felt completely honored to feature her shop this year as she busy working alongside of my favorite, Joanna and Chip!

Here is a little bit more about Sandi, the owner of Good Natured Child:

How did you get your shop started?
I used to sew a lot when my kids were little, and when my first grandchild was born, I took it back up. There were so many wonderful organic fabrics on the market, that I decided if I wanted to use them all I need to sew for other people too! So I decided to try a little Etsy shop--and I named after the first new little one who was so good-natured!!

What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
The paperwork! My daughter does most of my paperwork and my husband takes care of the taxes. I just want to do the creating....

What is one thing unique about you?
I had my first three kids in my 20's and my fourth one when I was 40. I had a daughter teaching 2nd grade at the same time I had a 2nd grader!

What is the best part of owning a shop?
The creative part. My products are fairly simple, but there are so many wonderful fabrics and fabric combinations to use; I love it!

How did you get your shop name?
As I said above....it was after my first grandchild who was so much more "good-natured" than my own babies.

What is one way that you keep organized?
One way is through using see-through bins (yay for the Container Store!) for product and fabric. I love seeing everything stacked neatly in their bins.

How do you balance family life and work life?
I prioritize... sometimes I feel wildly busy, but I always take the time to do things with my family even at the most hectic times. It's a great way to take a break!
