Reconnecting Recap + Goals with Grace :: May

goals with grace | may

It is May. Goodness gracious! I enjoyed so much of my time in April connecting and reconnecting with those around me, the calendar filled up and the days flew by. Here is a wrap up of what my goals were in April:

  • Send two more postcards to my pen pal from That’s Pretty Ace :: I failed. Miserably. As in I did not even send one more postcard to her. It's okay though. Goals with Grace!
  • Connect into an Influence Network community group :: I attended my first class, my bootcamp, joined a community group, bought an Influence Conference ticket... and my community group's first meet-up is Friday!
  • Dive deeper in my “Third Places” :: We have definitely done this. Our lives are getting busier but as they are, we are striving to be so intentional with where we go, and who we meet there. Even down to our waitresses at local restaurants, getting to know them, seeing them a few times a month, connecting... and it is such a blessing.
  • Have a girls weekend :: A weekend for a bachelorette party in Nashville, TN followed by a weekend with my husband and some really old college friends for a wedding allowed for so much time to reconnect with those that I have not been close to in years.
  • Text more :: I truly feel like this is such a completed, but on-going goal for me. Texting more has allowed my girlfriends and I to connect on such a deeper level, stay in touch, and encourage each other so much more. Stupid simple, but honestly the best goal all month.

May's calendar is even fuller than April's, which sort of scares me... And excites me. With a fuller calendar, I typically struggle more with being intentional. The days just slide by without time for me to decompress, think, be expressive and reflect. To make sure I am being intentional, I want a month of yes's. I think it will stretch me a bit further and make me more full.

  • Say Yes to a Sabbath :: Don't hear me wrongly. My husband and I rest... or try to... or schedule it on the calendar. But I struggle in the day-to-day rest. The intentional rest. The rest that happens even when things still need to be done. The rest that occurs when you have to fully be dependent on God because without Him, the rest would not happen. The rest that allows myself to be fully delighted in the Lord and Him fully delighted in me.
  • Say Yes to "ME" time :: This upcoming month is full. Overflowing with blessings. But if I am not intentional, I will not take any time for me. I want to finish a lovely book by Jessica Turner, The Fringe Hours, and really learn what "me" time looks like. How it fits into our marriage and if it helps me or hurts me rest...
  • Say Yes to Some Projects :: With that "me" time, I really want to work on some projects that God has been burning deep in my heart. Stuff that I have been praying about since the end of last year. Some that have had that e-mail sitting in my draft email box for months... I just am ready to jump and see where the Lord takes it.
  • Say Yes to Something that Scares Me :: I'm not sure what this is, but I am sure it will happen.
