Prebiotics, PRObiotics, and POSTbiotics with Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics

There is a lot of buzz about probiotics. I'm fairly sure that as long as you are not living underneath a rock, you have at minimum heard the word in the past year or so. Probiotics can be so important for a person's health overall so that's why when I had the opportunity to try out Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics over this past month, I quickly jumped on board.

I'm not new to taking probiotics. In fact, we have taken several different types in attempts to keep our gut healthy, and I really do feel taking them boosts our immune systems and keeps us from getting sick as often. If you have been around here for even just a little while, you already know the Bahorich's like to keep it natural. That's why probiotics are important. I feel that a healthy mind and body really does start in the gut, and if you have a healthy gut, your body will be able to combat a lot of bad bacteria that could make you sick.

Why Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics?

The Dr. Ohhira Difference!

One of the reasons I wanted to try this brand over others is that Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics are not cultured or grown in a laboratory like most other probiotic products. Natural crops and spring water are fermented* for three years with 12 distinctive probiotic strains. These strains encourage your body’s innate ability to grow its own friendly bacteria. This rich culture medium (PRE-BIOTICS) is then encapsulated along with the beneficial lactic acid bacteria (PRO-BIOTICS) that have grown together over the three-year period and the resulting nutrients from this fermentation process (POST-BIOTICS) - all important as part of gut health. Probiotics alone do not do this, and all three of these things working together truly can make the difference!

I started taking the capsules for a little over a month now, and although some days I have missed out due to traveling or whatever, I have stuck to my new regiment pretty well. And as I prep for the holidays, I know that I will continue on my probiotic habit. Instead of thinking of Thanksgiving and holiday menus (which can totally be hard on your stomach), I know that I have a way to combat that greasy ham, fried turkey, mashed potatoes loaded with milk and butter, yams with sugary marshmallows, and decadent desserts! Even if you eat healthy the rest of the year, sometimes your digestive system just isn’t prepared for the onslaught of rich fare.

I also just love that Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics are:

  • 100% Vegetarian
  • Dairy Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Chemical Free
  • Non-GMO
