Thank you, Rosebud Birdie, for sponsoring this post, part of Bahorich Abode's Shop Small Holiday series. I was selected for this opportunity by Rosebud Birdie; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

One thing that helps me stay sane throughout my holidays (and really, all year) is organization. My life can get crazy and I wear many hats that all seem to come to the surface during the holidays. As many of you know, I work from home. There are a lot of benefits that come with this but one thing that also falls into lap with this is taking the ownership of being our household manager.

To me, a household manager is one that manages the aspects of the home. I do the majority of our grocery shopping, our cooking, our cleaning, our laundry, the scheduling of our calendars and finances, etc. With a blooming toddler, a pregnant belly, and helping out with the ins and outs of a church plant, on top of working, managing a blog, and managing a household... like I said, things are busy! To keep organized, I love using systems -- especially bags to help me stay organized with our things.

From holiday travel to the normal day-to-day packing of a diaper, purse, and more, bags help me keep organized and ensuring that I grab everything that I need for our adventures big and small. From comestic bags, pencil bags, project bags, essential oil bags, and so much more, Rosebud Birdie has been my go-to this season.

Rosebud Birdie is yet another small shop that I encourage you to shop at this holiday season and make the impact for a small family shop compared to the larger corporations. Beyond bags, Rosebud Birdie creates items like cute little dolls to checkbooks and kitchen towels. Each item is handmade and super good quality.

I have been toting around my makeup bag for several weeks now and it was perfect to travel with during the Thanksgiving weekend. As holiday parties are starting to ramp up, I can also imagine me grabbing my essentials to put on my makeup on-the-go as we are always running late these days. It is the perfect size for what I need, not too big, and fits well in both my diaper bag and purse! The most exciting thing is that the shop owner, Carol, is offering our readers 10% off of any order over $18 using the code "BAHORIC10" on her small shop on Etsy! The code is good until Dec. 31st!

Here is a little bit more about Carol, the owner of Rosebud Birdie:

How did you get your shop started?
I love to sew and create and always wanted an outlet for my items. When I heard of Etsy, I knew that was the place for me to start selling my items.

What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
The hardest part of owing a shop is balancing home, family and sewing or working. I am an early riser, so I do a lot very early in the morning.

What is one thing unique about you?
I think the thing that is unique about me is that I I love making my own patterns and love that I have a fair amount of time for doing what I love.

What is the best part of owning a shop?
One of the best things about owning a shop is being my own boss and choosing my own hours to work.

How did you get your shop name?
The name just popped into my mind one day when I was getting ready to start the shop. I wanted a name that was sweet and cute.

What is one way that you keep organized?
I try to keep organized by using a lot of totes and shelves for my growing stash of fabrics. My sewing room can really get messy with certain projects, but I see mess as creativity.

How do you balance family life and work life?
I balance work and family by using every minute. I can get a lot done in 30-45 minutes, even 15 if I stay focused and have a goal, like cutting out 10 bags in a small amount of time. Or having only 30 minutes can be enough for a walk with my husband or walking over to see my grand kids.

xoxo, Heather
