Thank you, Citi Babies, for sponsoring this post, The Best Diaper Bag for Disney Parks and Beyond. I was selected for this opportunity by Citi Babies; the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
It has been nearly a month since we have gotten back from Walt Disney World and I miss it each and every day. It was such a great time for our family to get away for a few days prior to the chaos that the holidays always brings with travel, family and friends.
One of my biggest stressors prior to our trip was our diaper bag. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been on the hunt for a new diaper bag since the announcement of baby number two. I enjoyed my Skip Hop Duo Special Edition Carry All Travel Diaper Bag Tote but honestly, it is already starting to look a bit worn. Additionally, I really knew that a backpack style would work far better on the go. I wanted a diaper bag that had a bit of a designer feel for times that I left my purse at home; however, I know Dusty, like many husbands out there, wanted something that did not look like a purse for him to carry around.
Enter Citi Babies.
Citi Babies is exactly what I needed for this trip and beyond! This bag is functional, simple, doesn’t scream “hey, there’s diapers in here!” and will not break the bank with its price! It’s backpack bag that has a removable shoulder/messenger bag strap. It also can be carried by the handles or clipped to your stroller handlebar with a built-in clip, which is super functional and nice.
When you open the bag, a metal frame keeps it open. It doesn’t collapse which allows it easy to peek inside. The placement of the pockets makes it easy to have access for diapers, toys, and many other on-the-go essentials. It has 2 pockets on the inside front, one on each side, and a zipper compartment on the back inside. This allows you to remained organized, yet not forget which pocket you put the nail clippers in or another smaller item. The outside pockets are stretchy and perfect for a sippy cup or water bottle. It fits our Ollie’s toddler CamelBak perfectly and it did not fall out once during the whole trip. One of the these pockets even have a wipes opening to always have easy access to wipes.
The front pocket has 2 pockets for bottles that are insulated and one stretchy strap for a bottle/cup. This is perfect for breastfeeding mommas wanting to keep milk cold on-the-go or keeping fruit or snacks cold. It also has a little mesh pouch, an area for snacks or those pesky little toys that always seem to disappear. The back of the backpack has a zipper compartment that I love to my phone, keys, and wallet in.
Now to the best part, I know hard to get better than everything else I’ve already mentioned, but the inside of the this bag is HUGE! It is 17 inches tall! Yep, you read that right! It will even fit a laptop when you aren’t using it for kids! It measures 17in x 11in x 3in.! I love slipping in my Travelon Packing Squares to help keep things even extra organized in it’s big space.
Overall, this bag hits the nail on the head in every category I needed. It’s gender neutral, so my husband doesn’t mind carrying it one bit. It’s functional for one baby or multiple kids. It’s easy to clip on and off of the stroller, as well as it was easy to loosen or tighten the straps based on if my husband and I was carrying it.
It has now travelled with us to the apple orchard, flown to Disney World for the week, and may be our new permanent diaper bag. I know that it is going to fit all of Ollie’s essentials as we venture into toddlerhood together and add another addition to the family with Lillie. It will fit all of their necessities and then some.
This bag comes in gray or black, and the company is releasing a leather version in Black and Tan for just $89 in a couple weeks! The leather version is absolutely gorgeous and 100% wipeable with 10 pockets! I’m dying to have the tan one already!
Here’s a bit more about Citi Babies ::
How did you get your shop started?
After our first son was born, my husband Todd and I struggled to find quality, minimalist baby goods at affordable prices. We seemed to be faced with two choices: Beautifully designed, elegant goods with an eye-popping price, or cheaply made goods with busy patterns in garish colors. So we set out to design a line of quality baby goods that were modern, minimal and functional at prices that left some money for college savings. After months of design work and establishing trusted makers, Citi Babies was born.
What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
Trying not to execute all of my ideas at once. I have exciting ideas for additional products, marketing, connecting with customers, and social media but I have to keep focused and prioritize my goals so Citi Babies can grow.
What is one thing unique about you?
I read this question first and answered it last because I struggled to think of something truly unique about me. I think two fairly unique things about me are that I’ve had two home births in water and enjoy giving birth. Crazy, I know! The second thing would be that I love Crossfit and pushing myself physically. It’s a great stress reliever and helps me have the strength to overcome challenges in other areas of life.
What is the best part of owning a shop?
Interacting my customers! We love selling our bags but hearing and seeing how people are using them and how they love them is the best part of this business.
How did you get your shop name?
We had recently moved from Washington, DC to a small town right outside Raleigh, NC. We were talking about the future for our boys and whether we wanted them to be “city babies” or not. It wasn’t until a few days later, and throwing out countless other brand name ideas, that we came back to the conversation and Citi Babies got it’s name.
What is one way that you keep organized?
Ha! You make the assumption I am organized? Caffeine and luck. Besides those two things, I let my OCD and type A personality take over and prioritize my tasks by day and week over making a long to-do list.
How do you balance family life and work life?
It isn’t always balanced; more like a roller coaster. When we are balanced, it’s because I planned and organized well and focused on what need to be done at that specific time. Learning to ask for help has also greatly benefitted my entire family and helped us remain more balanced.
