Shop Small Spring Series

I probably do not share the benefits of essential oils to y'all enough but the Bahorich household is in love! We use them daily and have for several years. We use them for everything from stomach aches to sore muscles and a better night's sleep. If it is allergy season, we are diffusing eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint. All through the winter, we diffuse Thieves. We rub PanAway on our aches and pains. We rest with lavender. We clean with lemon and cut out odors with Purification.

As spring buds and blossoms, the pains and itches of mosquitos also start to appear. Living so close to the country and farmland, our yard is just swarming with the pesky little bugs! Thankfully, I discovered Pure and Simple Charm and her Bug Away Spray bug spray! I cannot wait to try it out! It smells so good. It is made with wholesome ingredients and many oils! I am so excited to have something to help with our summer issue without continuing to expose my family to harsh chemicals.

Pure and Simple Charm's Bug Away Spray is a unique blend of essential oils that they have spent the last year perfecting. It works on flies, mosquitoes, horse flies, midges and ticks. This insect spray contains the following essential oils : citronella, sweet orange, lavender, lemongrass, cedar wood, juniper, spearmint, tea tree, sweet marjoram , and cinnamon leaf. Bugs really despise the citrus and mint component to this spray. Just by testing it a bit, it has a pleasing citrus mint scent and also has a cooling effect on your skin thanks to the spearmint oil.

I am such a proponent of gifting useful gifts and this one definitely makes the list! Check out her shop over on Etsy and use the code "springtimelove" will get you 25% off any purchase! The coupon code is good through June 30th!!

Here is a little bit more about Ashley, the owner of Pure and Simple Charm:

How did you get your shop started?
My shop originally started with fused glass jewelry design. I took a class in 2013 and I was hooked! I had so much fun making jewelry that I became over run with jewelry and so I decided that I needed to downsize. I had heard about Etsy and decided to give it a try.

I opened my shop in 2014. Th jewelry left slowly, mostly because Etsy is overrun with jewelry makers and also because I hadn’t quite gotten the hang of SEO in order to get a lot of notice on Etsy. Then my interests turned into skincare products. I was tired of buying overpriced products from places like Bath and Body Works and The Body Shop. So, I looked into making my own. And the best part about that is I control what goes into my skincare products so that means no harmful chemicals, unlike most of the products you purchase from big box stores.

What is the hardest part of owning a shop?
The hardest part of owning a shop is trying to find time working on my shop, creating new products and being a stay-at-home mom! It’s hard to fully focus on your business when you are caring for and entertaining a 4 year old and doing the daily household chores that need doing. As a result, I have very late nights and early mornings!

What is one thing unique about you?
I am stubborn. Very, very stubborn. This is good and bad. I don’t give up easily on things that truly matter. It took my Etsy shop a long time to take off and several times I wanted to throw in the towel out of frustration, but I kept plugging along. I am so glad that I did!

What is the best part of owning a shop?
The best part about owning a shop is that I can make my own hours, and work from the comfort of home. Also, I have an outlet for my creativity!

How did you get your shop name?
I had a hard time thinking of a shop name. I was trying to find a name that incorporated a variety of things that I make. I figured a name like Pure and Simple Charm was straightforward, had a rustic, homey feel and could be a big umbrella for a variety of products!

What is one way that you keep organized?
I am a firm believer in to-do lists. And I’m old fashioned in that I like them to be done with a pen and paper!

How do you balance family life and work life?
It’s so hard! I still don’t fully have a good balance. It’s a work in progress. Usually, someone is getting left out and it ends up being my husband a lot of the time. Luckily, he is an understanding man!

xoxo, Heather
